Pantone LLC, the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, released the Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 edition for New York Fashion Week. Published for the fashion industry by the Pantone Color Institute, the trend forecasting and color consultancy, this season’s report features the top ten standout colors, as well as current takes on the four classic neutrals expected to be seen on the runway as fashion designers introduce their new autumn/winter collections. According to Pantone Color Institute experts, colors for Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 New York reflect the interest in desirable seasonal classics imbued with personality – colors whose timelessness and versatility convey a level of functionality, and at the same time lend themselves to unique color statements that stand out. These colors encourage creativity as well as pragmatism, reflecting the changing mindset of today’s consumer, who prioritizes value and longevity over color choices that are here today and gone tomorrow. “Offering a rich narrative, the color palette for Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 highlights our desire for versatile, timeless color. Reflecting a ‘less is more’ mindset that is becoming increasingly important to consumers prioritizing value and functionality, our color palette is stripped of excess,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Imbued with strength and personality, colors for Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 encourage our ongoing desire for unique self-expression through creative and unusual visual statements that stand out.” About the Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 NYFW Color Palette: Colorful favorites coupled with seasonal core shades come together to create a palette of fresh color classics.
